Audrey Bell RIP
It was with considerable sadness that we heard of the death
of Audrey Bell on Friday, 30th July. For all our sadness, however, I think many of us were not
surprised. She had been ill for
quite a long time, but overcame its impact on her as she set her sights on
nursing and caring for Ron. After
his death, her grief and the overwhelming nature of her own sickness quite
quickly got the better of her.
Audrey brought much to Saint Philip’s over many years.
Her sharp insights and commitment was part of what underpinned the
congregation through some difficult times.
Most of all, however, she was a tireless support and friend
to Ron in all he did. Her quiet
advice and strength, I am sure, shone through much of what he did.
They were indeed an equal partnership and they will always be remembered
together as Ron and Audrey.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated on the Feast of the Transfiguration with many friends around as we bade her farewell. May she rest in peace.
