The Annual General Meeting
The AGM was held on Saturday, 12th February this year. The attendance was quite good and there was a fairly full account of 2004 in the benefice. Copies of the reports are available from the Vicar. The Vicar’s report said that although the year had demanded much and that not every aspiration had been realized, none-the-less, a lot of progress had been made. The development of the CHAT Shop and the Toy Café had been good and all this is underpinned by the liturgical and other routines of the congregations.
Financially, we did not fare too badly, but the underlying position is still precarious and we need to reflect on how we might address this.
A very full report on the state of the building outlined the first steps that have been taken to address the maintenance needs and what is left to do – of which there is quite a lot! The use of the church for concerts was judged to be a good development; but it was pointed out that these needed to enjoy the general support of the congregations for success.
The Vicar did reflect during the meeting that a number of members of our congregation are currently working at full-stretch and we are very fortunate to have such a resource of commitment. Few questions were asked during the meeting and there was a general feel of contentment at the developments in 2004.
